Once again this year, the DGZfP annual conference, traditionally held in May, offers the ideal opportunity for a professional exchange on current developments in NDT (non-destructive testing) in research, development and application with an exciting program of promising presentations.

Our expert Dr. Joachim Jonuscheit from the »Materials Characterization and Testing« department will be on site with the presentation »Terahertz Measurement Technology for Inline Coating Control of Battery Foils« (Terahertz-Messtechnik zur Inline-Beschichtungskontrolle von Batteriefolien).

100 to 200 lithium-ion battery factories are either under construction or in the planning stage, as more and more countries will be abandoning combustion engines in the future. The production of electrode coatings plays a major role here, as they account for 22 percent of the total electrode costs.

Dr. Joachim Jonuscheit is working on terahertz measurement technology. This enables non-contact and non-destructive coating thickness measurement of cathode and anode foils and is therefore of economic and ecological importance for monitoring.
